Monday September 28, 2026 10:45am - 11:30am EDT
Limited Capacity seats available
This 45-minute session will introduce educators to the Virginia Holocaust Museum as a resource for developing meaningful, inquiry-based, and student-centered Holocaust education. Participants will explore how Museum exhibits, survivor testimony, artifacts, primary sources, and digital resources can support classroom instruction before, during, and after a Museum visit. The session will focus on strategies for moving students from passive learners to active historians by using inquiry-based approaches that encourage students to analyze evidence, ask questions, make connections, and develop their own understanding of the Holocaust and its broader historical context. Educators will explore ways to incorporate Museum resources into existing curriculum while emphasizing historical accuracy, context, and the ethical responsibilities of teaching difficult histories.
